So I've been tossing back and forth the idea of pinstriping my dodge and can go either way. I'd like to get some opinions either way. Stripers especially, how will pinstriping look over the rust? What do you guys and gals think?
hey i just saw that rig on ebay like a week or two ago. as for the pinstriping, i think you should do it. if you get the right color to contrast the color of the car, it will look great.
I shouldn't say this since I'm a striper, but I think it looks fine the way it is. Pinstriping could work though, but color choice is key. My gut reaction was that ivory, tan or yellow one-color striping would look best over rust. Then I saw 00's work on that...thing, and sure enough, yellow looks nice. You just don't want it to contrast too much and look out of place. My conclusion is that you need to bring it up here and have me stripe it. I could use the money.
When shouldn't you stripe something? Everything needs some striping if you ask me. The world would be a better place. Well, maybe the late model people could lay off the striping a bit, except the blingy Cadillacs. PT Cruisers need to be left un-customized or better yet, left on dealer lots. I think it should be subtle too. I kinda wonder about brown or black even. It'd be practically "ghost striping"! Maybe a dark green even.
stripes make stuff like this into magazine cars.....haha just a little will make your ride into something new and give it a different personality......i like to use a ivory or off white mix on rust......has a little bit of a old time feel.....the often used red works good.....orange , tan , kansas city teal and even black work as well........then there is that whole aged thing ......but i won't get into that .......hahhaha brandon yet another striper on the one shot experience
It ain't done until it's striped......Okay, i don't have a good pic of the striping on my rust bucket but here's how you do it......Mix up whatever color one-shot you're going to use.....Stripe it out and when it's just ever so tacky, run your hands across your filthy garage floor....Now take your filthy hands and procedd to rub it vigorously all over the ever so slightly tacky striping, as if you're trying to sand it off...Voila!!!....Instant 50 yo striping
The dirt acts like a fine sandpaper and wears away parts of it making it look natural but doesn't shine anything....Flattener still leaves it opaque but just dull.....
