Hey everyone-- I work at the Columbus College of Art and Design and we have a great show coming up about hot rods and choppers, opening October 1st. Here's a link to the web site: http://www.ccad.edu/events-exhibitions.html#wheelz . There's another link in that section for the flyer that has the opening day events. It's not going to be all traditional rides, but there will be some cool stuff there, and hey, if I can get my engine woes sorted out, I may be able to debut my Chevy in public. Hope to see some of you there and the show stays up until December. Tucker
Come on everybody this sounds cool .lots of HOT ROD kulture to breath in in a day. i all know we look at the FRIDAY ART listing . well i think this will be the same only in person..........give it a try. where else would hot rods get this kind of respect in the public or the comunity as a whole?
Boy your bringing back memories! I liturally spent 5 years of my income to finance my Daughters attendance there. She has her own Graphic Design business now. good luck on the show!

Hey Petejoe, Its a small world.....What years did your daughter go to CCAD? and what year did she graduate? Yah- I'm still paying off my education and will be until I'm 50..OH-well at least I have a good job and I love what I do....BS
I was trying to figure that out. She's 31 yrs old now... grduated from high school when she was 18. Too many numbers... I'm burnt out this week with new projects coming through at my work.
CCAD!!! Definitely a blast from the past! Show sounds KEWL!!! Let's go PeteJoe - you buying gas??? Brooding Swede - no way!! CCAD??? I bet we were there at the same time! I actually graduated in '97 with a BFA in Advertising/Design. I started at the dorms in the fall of '92. I did keep a low profile there because all those art weirdos scared the shit outta me! I pride myself as being one of the few "normals" ones there!! haha! I used to date Doug Scheetz - he was the dorm guy who worked/lived there - him and the other guy was named Chris. Remember them? I am curious if that packaging teacher is still at CCAD - he didn't like me too much, but I sure learned a lot from him! Were you at and what are you doing now Brooding Swede?
Sorry if you were Brooding Sweet! No offense meant! I was friends with some - but they still scared me! I still remember the first day my folks dropped me off and this guy named "Ax" was standing there with a top hat and piercing coming out from every part of his body... needless to say, mom almost took me straight home!!!
I am on the staff side, in Human Resources. I am the model coordinator as well, and I help the Dean of Fine Arts as well with her division's needs. It's a great place to work, I'll tell you. I have never enjoyed a job like I have this one. During our faculty/staff meeting before the school year started, they were reading the list of people and cars they're going to have, and I was making enough happy noises my boss had to lean over and shush me! Tucker
Sounds like a fun job! I miss Columbus sometimes! You guys ever need any help with design work - you give me a holler!
Sorry Bigsissy, For the slow reply . I was at an art opening last night in Charlston WV and had way to much fun. I started CCAD in 91 and was an "art freak" I had longer hair (Had Hair). I didn't date anyone until my last year and I married her Jennifer Reis. I studied glass blowing and ceramics. And yes I do remember"AX". I've got to take a nap there is a cruise tonight. later, Greg Penner
Just a quick update..I just saw an invoice for delivery of 3 cars next week...a Hirohata clone, Posies' Extremeliner and one of D'Augustino's customs. I was over in the Exhibition hall Tuesday and saw them setting up a magazine display..saw Hot Rod #1 and several little book R&Cs and Car Crafts; also the complete CKD. Couldn't get too close...They've already told me if anything comes up missing, I'm the prime suspect! Tucker
