Some of you seem to think I am making up the price that I am charged for the frame. I went into the emails again and copy/ pasted another part sent from them to me stating the balance I owe

(The quoted price range was $5300 to $5500.
Your current bill total is 5691.90 (5300 labor , 391.9 supplies)(We are over by 191.90)
    You have paid 3000.00
Your balance due is 2691.90 )

Walk away!....let the world know You got hosed!...And who hosed you. post proof you are not making this shit up, forward original emails and whatever else you have, If this is all as you say, You have gotten fucked 10 ways from sunday, It is best for you to chalk it up as a lesson learned, I say this to you because, from your post it does not sound like you are going to do anything else anyhow. I am not going to say what I would do in this case, but I will give you a hint, that cool ass sign hanging outside that shop and whatever other cool stuff I found while I was there to make things even, would be at my place. I work hard for my money, And I don't take a fuckin so easily....

I agree with what you're saying. It is pretty much and expensive lesson learned. I'm done worrying about it.

Your always going to get flack for threads like this. I know of a few places that customers have gotten took on builds and stuff being done. Seems like alot my work has been redoing stuff from other shops, either shotty work or getting screwed all together. Merc charlie is a very nice guy, not sure how much shop time he actually does, never know an employee might be tellin the boss he has more than the said amount in labor to the chassis, so now hes trying to collect ..although that is a pretty exspensive looking couple pieces of 2x....

This is why I try to do as much as I can myself, plus I like the fact that i can say YES I built it.

    I have been there.

Charlie is a really nice guy. It's always a blast talking with him and talking cars. I have watched him build stuff and it is stuff of real quality. I haven't said anything other than that I respected the builder I just feel like I. Had a bad business transaction. I feel like it's one of those mixing friends with business things. They usually never work out.

  17. $5000+ to build a frame, that should have been a red flag before you spent a dime.

I have the same feeling, Steve. I think we have been played by a 12 year old from Nigeria who hacked into someone's account and is a little bored this week.

No man in his right mind would allow this situation to slip by with only a wimper. If it is true, I have couple of bridges down here for sale, cheap.

Don, the only thing that makes me wonder if it is actually true or not, Is You can tell that pic was taken from inside that shop, And you can tell they are building that frame on that make shift table. So aparently they did build that frame

  20. I got the same e-mail

( the quoted price was 5300 to 5500.
Your current bill total is 5691.90

Seems like it would make sense to get the 4500 dollar frame and pick it up at the round up and pay the difference of 1500. If that does not fly, i would stand all day long close to their spot letting potential customers know what happened untill they make either the refund your money or sell you the frame for the 1500 difference. I had to do thisnn once to a ford car dealer who sold my parents a new lemon piece of shit that broke down every month.

Hey guys, go and look at his previous posts. This dude actually has built and sold frames on this site as recently as 12/22. I think this thread will make more sense after you see the shop this dude makes his frames in. Why would he have to outsource? Now the best way to get rid of competition is to do what is said in this thread.

I have to disagree!!...As nobody would buy a frame from him now, As his post makes him look like a total dumbass.......My point is This thread has hurt him just as much as anyone. I am still having a hard time getting over that frame table, there is no way it would stay true when welded up.

Something is really fishy here. Look at this post from slick bastard
    http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=757177
Now I bought a custom frame myself it was $700 I hated the way it was built I bought a model a rear crossmember and new tubing using only the front where it was tapered.
I v notched and re welded everything the builder did and still came in at under $1000 complete with motor trans and ladderbar mounts.
If you are capable of building and taking orders for custom frames I call bullshit that you would pay over $5000 for a frame. I don't care who built it.
I could build a frame table, buy a welder, plasma cutter, a shitload of holesaws, tubing crossmembers, and whatever miscellaneous abrasives for $5000!!!
And to think I was feeling sorry for you.
I had a similar deal once with a paint job he used my supplies to paint two other cars and got a grand from me before I pulled the plug I still feel stupid but I was just a 19yo kid.
Either this is bullshit or your a complete idiot with too much money.
I can't believe I felt sorry for you in the beginning.
