I'm pulling the engine and trans from my 62 Dodge, but the parking brake on the rear of the trans is too large to fit between the crossmember and floor board. Will the entire parking brake assembly come off or is there another way to pull this.
    Thanks,
    Chris

Drop the crossmember or separate the engine and trans and remove one at a time. With manual trans it is easier to remove trans first.

It's an auto Torqueflight. Bot of those options are going to be a PITA the way the car sits. The torsion
bars mount to the same crossmember, will the springs go flying if I pull the bolts with the car on jack stands? I've never had a torsion bar-sprung car before.

There should be a drop out in the middle of the crossover.

  5. If the crossmember looks tone such a pain, why not remove engine first and then the trans??

Be sure there is no weight on the wheels before you drop the X member. The T-bars can twist the stubs if there is weight on them, making it a bitch to get the bolts back in later.
