There is a rust hole in the bottom of the cab right near the foot placement for the p***enger, what is the best product or procedure for fixing it?

w.t.f., basic body work one, now in session. Being a little hard on ya pal, seems pretty simple here. Good luck, you can always screw and old street sign over it. ~sololobo~

Go easy on her. Her intro post says she a mom working on her kids truck, she's an RN, and a military wife.

I think we should be fixing this truck for her.

    Hey,

Besides the repair of the rotted area, be sure you find out what caused it! Usually the windscreen gasket weeped for years behind the dash and floot mats:( Sometimes it was the heater core:mad:

Hey the only dumb friggin ?, is the one not asked, so ask away, cuz it's okay.
If you can pot pics of the repair area, maybe others, can see what is up.
Rusted, pitted floor are, this needs to be cut out, area surrounding needs to be cleaned up, either sand blasted, wire brushed or something like a 3m stripper disc to clean up the area.
You could try cutting a piece of 18-20 gauge sheet metal patch to fit, then cut out whats needed with a cut-off wheel, something like a zip cut wheel on an angle grinder or a cut off airtool. If someone can weld it in, then use seam sealer, or metal filler on weld joint, prime and paint, done.
If you cannot weld, you could try 3M panel adhesive, a 2 part epoxy bonding adhesive, and this seals edge of metal patch same time.
Good Luck, hope it works out well, love 55 Dodge trucks, as I have 55 Fargo pickup, same thing......
