Hey everybody. Thinking about possibly adding disc brakes on the front of my 52 deluxe with the stock suspension. Do any of the kits out there allow for the use of the stock wheels? As of right now I have 2 sets of steelies, the original 15" and a set of 14's from a 58 Chevy.

    Thanks for any thoughts.

I used Buffalo Enterprises disc brake kit and stock wheels. He also claims this to be the only kit that does not move the wheels outward.

I also used his dropped uprights, and dual M/C kit. All good stuff.
(It took a while to get my order straight, but he's a 100% stand-up guy, and he worked it out in spades!)

I've got a '52 Deluxe too and I bought my kit from ECI. I'm using the stock wheels and had to grind on the caliper a bit in order for the wheel to fit. I've got about 3/16" clearance between the rim and where I ground it, but it should be fine.

Steve (Buffalo) really knows his stuff. His dropped uprights have extra caster built in (recommended). His disc-brake kit also drops the steering arms, saving the cost of dropped arms, if you go that route. (You will need a second Driver side tie-rod, to replace the non-adjustable P***. side tie-rod.)

He is a one man operation, and early Chevys are his p***ion.

Some find him crusty. I found him real.

If the disc don't move the wheel out, then you could have problems with the 58 14'' wheels.

I'm running them on the front of my 50 and I have to use a spacer.

I used ECI. no problems with 14" wheels. I then used those same wheels on the jaguar front end. no problems once i shaved the hub down to fit the center.

stock m/c will not, in any way, move enough fluid for donor gm disc brakes up front.

jag discs are vastly superior to s10/monte/malibu discs, but require more fluid. 1" manual vette master was not up to the task. when thinking about brakes, think about the whole thing.

    Thanks.
i was hoping to be able to run either set of rims for whatever brakes i end up with. Ive already upgraded to a dual master, but of course if i switch to disc i'll be changing it out.

I've been looking into the jag front end setup also. If I find one at a yard, it's a definite posibility
