Was wondering if someone can help figure this issue . My buddy picked up a 46 Chevy coupe the car has a Camarro subframe welded in. It also has a Nova rear end . The trackwith looks too wide on the front. Has anybody know what the orig**** trackwith is ? Or has anybody cliped this kind of car with a diffrent kind of frame ? S-10 or G body car ? Or does anybody have an orginal frame for sale ? Any help would be great ! Thanks.

Ihave a 48 chevy with a mII and it is to narrow in my opinion as I had to use wheels with hardly any back space so the tires are in alignment with the rears. I have a 70 ford half ton truck rear which was perfect width with the original front end. I also have a nova rear which is only a half inch narrow over the ford rear. I will post the widths when I go out to the garage today. I don't think the camaro will be to wide if you are running narrow tires like I am. I didn't want the big fat tires, I drive my car alot so I like the 4 to 5 inch tread width. Will post later.

  5. Fatman has narrowed tubular "A" arms for Nova front ends that help. I put them under a 49 Plymouth that was subframed and they worked well

What do you need to know...? Mine's all original...Inside of one tire to the other is 51 & 1/4 inch's...That's with the original tires...Get back to me if you need other measurements...

Oh,man...Original frame....? The VCCA is tearing down all their old "For Sale" posts...Like the last 5 years 'o them...Check their chat site...It's better than eBay, prices are pretty much set in stone...Just a lot of original ****...

Front steer is too wide as you found out. You can try wheels with different offset, S-10 4x4 wheels have more inside offset, almost like a fwd wheel. For an in-between offset, a Jaguar wheel might be a good choice. Both are 5 on 4.75 pattern, same as the Camaro sub. Wheels are much cheaper than narrowed A-arms. Both of these wheels are ugly, so plan on some full hubcaps to hide the ugly.

My 47 is on a 76 Monte Carlo ch***is. I run 205's on 14 inch rims up front and 225 on 15's in the rear I amd thinking about changing it to run 15's up front using a different tire side wall size.
