Well if ADVICE on building a rat rod is what you seek, then here it is: don't.

To start, get a rusted odd ball pile of parts, some rebar, chicken wire, tractor grille, spider web stencils, old ammo, skulls, lots of sharp pointy things, and a 110 flux core MIG welder. You will need other things, damaged air bags, black pipe for suspension pieces, a leaky engine and transmission, preferably with at least one billet or chrome item, usually the water pump pulley or alternator. Barbed wire is always fashionable, as is a jack Daniels bottle. Things to avoid are, design, safety, pride, taste/style, and driveability.
That should get you at least going in the right direction.

Thankx the input everyone.Might of used the wrong word when i said ratrod, I found this web site threw people i met in a few shows in the bay area like billet proof and midnight m***(Sac area)..I have a few other cars like my impala more lowrider,my 41 mix street custom and my fleetline i want to go more traditional.Ive done all electrical, mechanical in my cars but never the bodywork.I know how to mig/tig weld and ready to take on my project.so far done my floor boards and trunk, wich now i want to cnoch it so now will need to redo it,i guess this will just be a trial and error process ,hope to post pics up soon.

Hello and welcome El Winky. You started at a good place when you went to Billetproof and Midnight m***. I have attended all but the first two Billetproof shows.
I have Like you several cars, one is a 50 Chevy Fleetline, currently it is undergoing a new paint job.
Strangers car show (Kelly park San Jose) in July is another good show to get some ideas for a traditional or Ratrod style builds
Don't pay any attention to the haters.... Build what you want and what makes you happy.
