Not sure where to start so here goes; Way too many years to count tinkering with old cars. Had a lot of good teachers & my old man got me started. Worst mistake he ever made. LOL Wish I would have thanked him before he p***ed a few years ago! Growing up in the Detroit metro area during the 50's & 60's gave me a birds eye view of a lot of different iron. Some of my best days were on Woodward Ave., Telegraph Rd. and a piece of ashphalt called North Line which dead ended at a runway behind Detroit Metro Airport. No homes, businesses, no street lights, no nothing except about a mile and a half of straight black top road. On second thought I think there was an abandoned home on a side street. Basically run what you brung ! Busting parts was very expensive even in those days so with the help of my friends I changed my ways. My favorites were the 57 Chevy, but had Fords, Pontiacs and an occasional Olds. Had good mentors to, to teach me paint, body work, gl***, upholstery etc etc etc. Got to the point that when I was laid off, worked in a body shop to make ends meet. Well I guess the time has come to p*** it down to my daughters boy Nick. Two things he likes to do is play hockey and work on the car. Hes 9 & has a better tool box than I had @ 25. His first project will be a 57 Chevy Sport Hard Top. We are not sure if it will be a restoration, a resto mod or a "Hollywood Knight" blown small block with a canary yellow paint job, but whatever it is & with his help it will be cool to cruise Woodward or Telegraph Rd in. No more North Line though.....way too many homes, businesses and cops !
