Sorting out someones build. Anglia body on S10 frame. 2" dropped spindles and 3" dropped springs. Mustang rack that is installed does not have the travel needed for full turning radius. Need a rack that has at least 6" total travel.
Without going with a custom built rack, are there any out there. Need to use a manual rather than power rack as the space is too limited to hold the housing that hoses attach to.
    Thank you for any ideas.

    Try Sweet, Appleton, or Woodward.

An Anglia on an S-10 Frame" That has got to be a bit of an abortion! The Anglia is so narrow they would have had to have hacked the **** out of the S-10 to get it narrow enough. Why, Why would someone do that to a poor Anglia? Good luck on that.

And since you are New here, go here http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=44274 and follow the rules for new guys on here and do a proper introduction, it's part of becoming welcome on here.

look on the s10 forums, they have sorted out just how to use mustang II racks on s10 stock front ends.

There is so much more to a steering rack than travel, but I won't even start that rant.

Now go do a proper introduction.

Actually the body is a 4 door Prefect which I had doubts many would know what that is. ;-)
Now read the rules & will do an intro. Thanks

Extension don't change the travel, just the length

Can the tierod holes in the spindles be redrilled to mount the tierod closer to the balljoint?
That will increase the turning angle without changing the rack...but will also quicken the steering somewhat as well.

It was a thought but it would take adding material to the spindle arm before drilling a new hole. Plus that would angle the end of the tie rods back and put undo pressure on the rack. Thanks for the input. :)

I'm not seeing the extra "pressure"...you wouldn't need to go very far back to make a difference...BUT I certainly wouldn't want to attempt to add additional material in that critical area to allow it.

    Oh well...worth a shot! LoL

Back to the top for ya...;)

We didn't think the idea of added material was a good one either ;)
Thanks again, keep the idea coming
