My Pop's bought and sold cars back in the day, mosly before I came on scene. He had a 40 Ford with a flathead right after the war. The story goes he got it cheap 'cause the block was cracked, but cars were hard to come by then and it ran. Well some guys steals it, but the police find it and it is towed to a garage for my Dad to pick up. He says "I want to see it run" and he fires it up. Water shoots out the back and the old man says "I guess we have a problem" and he ends up with a new motor.
My dad lived and breathed cars ! Lyle took his last breath on 12-29-12 .. he and his cars live on thru me.. hear are a few
sorry to hear about your father. I know your pain I lost my father on 5-18-11 and it was very sudden. cars were his life and he worked on them right until the end. I am glad to have him as a father and super hero and I will never forget the hundreds of cool cars I got to ride in and I got to drive a few.
this car my dad owned twice. the first time it was bone stock and he sold it to a friend of his then got it back some time later and it was lowered and had blue scallope's
the black 1950 ford in this set of pics was one of my favorite cars that my dad owned. last that I knew of it was still in Michigan and still looked the same. that was about ten years ago at woodward if I remember right it had a 302 auto in it and it said nifty fifty on the bottom of the front fender. if anybody might know were the car is shoot me a message I would love to know if it still looks the same or be able to see it in person again.
this car was before I was born but I do believe this is the car my dad put a 4bbl carb on it and cruised Jackson ave in ann arbor instead of going to his high school prom
I know the guy that bought the morris minor and he put it back on the road and drives the thing all over the place. It is now yellow.
