Howdy, just found the forum while checking the Ultimate Air Cooled forum. My kid races Pro Gas VW. Someone mentioned Fremont and it brought back lots of drag memories. I raced there in the 50s & 60s. Now retired in AZ where it's hot most of the time, my bones love it. I'll just sit back & lurk.

    Welcome Mr Nothin
You do realise this is a 65 and earlier traditional hot rod and custom forum, don't you (?) - there ain't goin' to be a huge amount of celebratin' for VW's here.
Other than that, enjoy your time here and hopefully you will 'see the light' and ditch the air-cooled stuff and get into something HAMB-friendly.
    Cheers.

Guess what, I do know a little about hotrods. I thought all they had in Austrailia was kangaroos. Just a smart *** answer to a post of the same caliber.
    Cheers mate

The avatar is cool, looks like a nice ride.
I had a '56 Bug in Germany, it was fun. It had the big cloth sunroof, great for cruising through the countryside!
I swapped more stuff in that car than in most anything since!
    Transaxles, motors, platform...
It took me to winefests, the Nurburgring, the Octoberfest, and Nuremburg's Kristkindlemart.
Only spun out a couple of times, once on ice.
