carpet edging trim

    What you use for carpet edging trim? Thanks

    When we did the wagon we just cut a strip of the material that the seats were covered in and sewed it to the carpet. HRP

    What he said. Then buy some rubber floor mat rubber and sew some carpet to it. Makes your own floor mats.

    Sorry guys i posted this wrong
    I meant as in like the silver piece that goes across the rocker panel shown in his picture.Forgot what is called.

    That piece is called a "sill plate"..depends on make of car,as they are usually made for modle spacific

  7. you will have to check with the vintage chevy parts suppliers to see if a sill plate is available for your truck. if not , you may have to make something or adapt from something else

    A universal sill plate can be found as close as your local hardware store,,,flat aluminum edging for carpet or as others have said it is generally available for most specific years in catalogs. HRP

    i bought a 1/8x 3/4 " piece of alum. from lowes drilled it and counter sunk the screws then buffed it for my 35 chevy truck

    ...........or you can take measurements of the rocker, go to U-pull-it or U-pick-it and measure out a few 70s-80s sill plates. [pickup trucks are a good place to look] Cut one down for your applicatrion.
