I got this mirror from a friend of mine yesterday. He found it in the back of a 32 Vicky he had in the early 70s. It was in the original box, which was lost a long time ago, and he thought I would like it. The clock says Westclox on the face and it winds from the side. Iam going to put it in my 30 A sedan. I have done a bunch of searching on it and havent found any solid info on it. He was told it was a factory accessory from the early 30s but there seems to be some mixed info on that. Thought some people here might have an idea. Any info would be appreciated.

  6. I have one similar that was out of my Grandpa's '36 Ford Sedan. I am in the process of getting it restored and the clock repaired. The only difference is my clock says Ford and the mirror itself is not rectangular. See my re-silvering post, I have a pic of what mine looks like!

Thanks guys, I did search the Ford Barn and could only find a little info on the dash mounted clocks. Iam mainly interested in finding out roughly what year it is from. Was it a factory option or an aftermarket dealer option, or did you order them from catalogues. Or maybe its a re-pop, just curious. Iam going to be putting it in my car regardless as I think it is super cool.

they were sold by ford dealerships back in the day as an accessory. ive got a book called the ford dealership by Henry Dominguez and in one shot there is a pile of these on a table in the showroom/spares dept. the pics were taken in 1936.

Give the Old Car Centre in Langley a call, ask for Richard. I am pretty sure they were a repro item at one time too. Richard knows his Model A's.
