    VERY BAD NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JERRY SEZAR WAS BURN LATE SAT. NIGHT. HIS TWO DAUGHTERS STILL PUT ON HIS OPEN HOUSE SUN .

Jerry raised by a gear head, it was only natural that he inherit the trait. He started working side by side with his grandfather in the early 1950s on Harley Davidson motorcycles. At about the same time Jerry's father Ed, was doing circle track racing at the Oakland Speedway in San Leandro. In the late 50s, early 60s the Oakland Speedway was torn down. which led the family into drag racing at the Fremont Raceway. Here they set records and won trophies for themselves, friends and customers along the way.

Jerry rebuilt his first engine at the age of 12. Needless to say, he was no stranger to getting in trouble for street racing. Once Jerry blew up an engine and was grounded for a week. You know he rebuilt that engine in his bedroom on the second floor of his parents home, with the help of his brother who ***isted in hoisting it up through the window. Jerry's dad was blown away when Jerry took off at the end of the week in that car. Hence our motto, Never Give Up!

After Jerry's tour of duty in Vietnam (1965-66), he was discharged from the United States Marine Corp in 1968. (Never could get a tank to run very fast!) In need of money he continued to work various jobs. Between holding down a job with Peterbuilt Motors and attending a local college, he built a large following of local gr*** roots hot rod builders. The structured environment at Peterbuilt quickly became frustrating and Jerry left the company.

Through friends at the drags, Jerry was told about a man he would enjoy working for. Recruited by Paul M. Cook, founder of Raychem Corporation in Menlo Park, Jerry began and remained an employee for 24 years. He was considered a key employee who built prototype machinery for the radiation, chemistry and medical industry. Jerry's talents include hand fabricating five million electron volt gamma ray beams to ***isting Paul with his offshore boat racing venues. (Record still stands)

On the home front the hot rod business was still going strong in the one-car garage until 1972 when Jerry was given a "cease and desist order" from the local constable. Being the upstanding individual that he is Jerry was forced into an industrial environment. Jerry spent until 1986 trying to make a profit after work building hot rods at his shop in Hayward.

In 1988 Jerry ended up working where he and his family played, on the water in the Delta's Discovery Bay community. Here he continued to build hot rods as well as custom machines for various medical manufacturing companies in the Bay Area. He could only do so much out of his waterfront six car garage and quickly moved his business to Brentwood. Jerry worked day and night with out disturbing anyone welding and grinding getting jobs done. After 10 years at the Brentwood location he had done all he could in a 2,000 square foot area and moved the business down the road to a 10,000 sq.ft. facility in Knightsen.

The waiting list for space continues to grow at his shop. He and his loyal employee's continue to build away, sometimes side by side with their customers. That's right Jerry is willing to teach anyone who wants to learn, how to build a car. This unique feature to his shop is unlike any other in the industry.

OCH. Oh well. Deal with it. Wow...93 Posts. You've just been around forever!

Sam- The first thing I said was "Sorry about your pal." And I meant it. I also meant the other stuff too. I would feel worse if I had any idea about who I was talking to. Or about.

Sorry to hear about your buddy......burns are the worst, wish him the best.

  20. I wish him the best also, seems like I read something about him not too long ago.

This "post vs. credibility" stuff here is ********, I've watched this for a long time seeing the good guys/decent people answer a guys' question even if he's only got 1 post, but there's always a bunch of ****s who seem to think they're some kind of hamb elite by having a bunch of posts and dismissing or downright insulting another guy not knowing who he is, how old he is, what he's been through, or anything about him.......it's a pathetic individual who's size of their anonymous little balls are based on how many posts they have and thinks that allows them to be smart-***ed & condescending and treat a new guy like some idiot. If I were king no one would have a post count, only a name. It means nothing.

I'll drink to that! And also a toast to Mr. Sezar's recovery and future health. The POINT of this thread was that a man dedicated to our interest in traditional rods was badly injured. How it digressed to degrading a guy for not having 10K posts is pretty sad. Maybe he should greet 908 intros and then be a senior member so he could safely convey concerns about his friend. The number of posts says absolutely nothing about the knowledge, experience or ******** level of the writer.

Hope your 2 buddies make it ok.

I met Jerry at Paso this summer, he took the time to BS with me for an hour or so about his T coupe.

It's the single seat alcohol feed sbc coupe that has been seen here before. It's a ******** hot rod that's for sure.

I'm sorry to hear about your friends. My prayers are with them. I don't know your friends, but if they have a friend like you to post this concern for them, then they are fortunate indeed. Mr. Sezar is also fortunate to have two daughters who are willing to help him continue the family business while these injuries are putting a strain on them all. My prayers also go out to his friend who pulled him out. We all need friends like him.

Please excuse any derogatory remarks in other posts. Sometimes we don't read too well and our at***ude shows before our brains and hearts are fully functioning. At times our fingers outrun our brains. In reality 99.9 percent of the people here are caring, concerned people.

Please come back and post an introduction when you can.

I wish him and his rescuer a speedy recovery.

I don't know how bad he is, but Arnie Beswick was burned really bad a while back. At first they didn't think he'd make it, now he's planning on getting behind the wheel again.
Your friend may not really "want" inspiration right now, but Beswick's example is about as good as anything a hot rodder could want.
You might even try tracking down Arnie and see if he can get a message to your buddy.
