Effectiveness of penetrating oils/lubricants

    I agree. I found this info quite awhile back and made up some. The acetone immediately evaporated leaving the ATF to do something, of which it did little. I like to heat whatever is stuck and hit it with PB Blaster or some of the others. It ****s it right in. Been using LW since the 50's.

    What good would acetone be even with very gentle heat? Must be something for Alaska. ;)

    I used the atf/acetone mixture twice so far. Once on a 12 year old exhaust manifold and the second time on a 13 year old O2 sensor. Worked well both times.
