Deuce Roadster's 1st Deuce Roadster

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by cabriolet fan, Jan 20, 2013.

  1. Most of us here have seen, either in photos or in person, Deuce Roadster's Deuce Roadster and 3W Coupe. Both are very nice.

But have you ever seen his 1st Deuce Roadster?

    Here it is :

  5. No, this one came before.

Here's a little better picture of it.

The man in the picture is Deuce Roadster's father.

This photo was taken in the 1970's.
It was my first 32 Ford. It was at the time exactly what I wanted ... but ... after a little while I decided a Hiboy was not for me. I had seen all the Hiboys in the magazines and been to Gatlinburg so that had influenced my choices.
I decided I needed a full fendered roadster. I was gathering the parts and pieces to convert this car over ... to the 70's current street rod ch***is. Dropped axle, Vega steering, 9 inch rear that would tuck the tires under the fenders ECT. I had a complete ch***is already built :D

Then it dawned on me
Why waste all the good stuff and a running roadster. I would just BUY another 32 Roadster. The old one was safe but did not meet my new improved ideas and the car had been channeled and raised back up ... poorly. So I sold it ... and continued building the full fendered one I currently have.

The roadster was not bad for the time ( 70's ) but it needed a dropped axle. It had a MAS straight axle with no drop. The rear end was a Nova 10 bolt. The tires were too wide and the steering was a old F-100. The radiator was a original 32 Ford one. A stock 69 350/300HP and a matching Turbo 350 was the power.

It was fun at the time ... but the one I have now is a lot more fun :)
If I can get it back together ...
