That red and white full bodied dragster in the first film sure looks like Kansas City's Bob Sullivan and his Pandemonium.

I'll forward this thread to a guy I know who was in the Topeka car scene back in the late '50s early '60s and see if he recognizes any cars.

    Here's some feedback I've gotten:

"...was on the Lower Silver Road, Topeka Ks. We had a dike at the end of the drag strip that had to stop you or it's in the river. The return road was dirt."

My source ran a '32 roadster and a '60 Bonneville at that strip.

    More:
"Larry Lowrey Sr. was the driver of the red 57 chevy, the driver of the pickup was Gary Jensen I believe. The 55 Chevy in the other clip was driven by Wayne Kilnor from Manhattan."

I will show this to my dad. He raced out there at this same time period with some guys from his car club. He may recognize some of the cars. He also has some 8mm film from '61 that we would like to get put on dvd if you could tell me where I might get that done. I would share it as well.

I hung out with a guy who raced a B/G Anglia called "Lil Critter" inthe mid to late 60'S. I remember we had to weigh in at the elevator scales and then go across the road to the track.

That name sounds real familiar. I think that he's still around the KC area.

I'm thinking the Fiat is Pusch and Cain.

Don Cain never drove the blown 265 CI Fiat Altered. He drove John's AA/GD and a Mustang Funny car.

I felt like I was talking to myself by bumping it back up to the top. The 'vintage' shots are too great to let it slide to page 15.

The Fiat was Push and Cain, the maroon roadster I believe was Pete Peterson and the Blue Crosley was Charlie Flott.

Meant to do this a long time ago. Based on some fuzzy-logic detective work, I think this is where Kaw Valley used to be. The blue ellipse shows the grain silos in the background of the movies, and the red might show where the track was. Pure speculation on my part.
