I want to run the stock tank on the A P/U. But have heard that people have had fuel runout problems. Anyone Know of a Electric valve that will shut off when power is removed. I have tried to look thru the Grainger Catalog, but it is like 1000 or so pages. Any help would be great. I an thinking about using a Tank switching valve but will have to do some razzle dazzle elctrical work to make it work.
Check with suppliers of "A" saddle fuel tanks. They have shut-off and switching electric valves. Electric wiring part is easy; get a - ***uming two tanks - single pole, double throw, center off switch. Should be rated for about 20 amps. (over kill, but that rating of switch is common) It will have three terminals; one for power in, the other two for power out. When the switch is in the center (off) position, no power goes to either of the valves.
check these out , they are in the Snyder's catalog and fit stock tanks: http://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/ModelAParts/GasTank/2142
