    Hey guys,

I've got a lead on a 12" Di-Acro finger brake with a full set of fingers. No stand and in good working condition.

What would you guys value this at?

    Thanks,
    Carl

Small finger brake, handy to have around the shop. Up to $500 if it's in good shape and all the fingers are there seems reasonable.

i wouldn't value it very high, 12" for automotive sheet metal work is very limited. size DOES matter!

i think they used the small ones in the sign industry. i've got a nice, compleate chicago 36'' and it's allway's to small for what i'm doing!

Thanks guys - yes it's just like the one in this eBay post but in better shape with a full set of fingers. BTW - I did look around a bit but I wanted to see what you guys had to say in addition to a seller's post.

    Thanks again,
    Carl

F&J I believe it has a 12" bed (if that's the correct term) but it's very stout and seems like it can bend some pretty think stock - just not very wide. Regardless, I know very little about brakes in general so all the responses here are helpful.

Diacro made very high end high quality equipment. They made brakes and shears in many small and medium sizes. I have a 6" and a 12" of both the shear and brake and a 12" slip roll along with some of their other equip. None are cheap.

They have there place but if you are going to make larger panels for cars and it is going to be your only brake you probably won't be happy with it because of its 12" capacity. As far as price, in excellent condition with a back gauge and a matching set of fingers about $600. These brakes were mainly used for small part high production operations.

If you are going to do patch panels for cars you would be better off with something with 4 foot capacity.

Diacro is the Cadillac of sheetmetal machinery, and always goes for big money...even the smallest brakes and shears hold their value. I think the 12" brake is still good for 16 gage, and some come with micrometer stlye back gages that can be sold to model makers, jewelers etc. for enough to pay for the brake...even the parts have a steady market on e bay...may be more tool than you need, but you won't lose money on it.
