Glad you found a link to this that works in the US - I posted the link to BBC iplayer but it would only work in England.

There are some great one-liners in the first show, such as when they ask one biker if he's ever likely to get married - "Not unless she can f*cking weld" was his answer.

Also watch out for the guy melting down old bike parts - he's wearing protective goggles, jacket, gloves, boots etc - and shorts.

There's also a glimpse of our '29 roadster being waved off the line by Dan in show 2.

It doesn't really quite give the impression of just how damn hard it is to run a car at Bonneville but it's well worth watching.

    Enjoy.

    Regards

    Jon'.

Watched them both. Very cool couple hours of footage. Made me want a LSR car even more than I already do.

Thanks for the links, I just watched both shows. I did see Tim's unibody and his short interview in the ****pit, very cool as I have followed his build on here.

The BBC seems to have figured out how to make some very good to watch shows, these are still light on the tech side of things, but very enjoyable to watch and are motivating.

I'll make it there myself one day.

I was really impressed with the level of expertise, detail and determination. Just goes to show petrol heads are independant sob's no matter where! Hats off to the bbc and thanks Ryan.

Before my first trip to the salt an old timer told me "Be prepared to run when you get there. You can't break a record ****in' around in the pits." Wise words. I met a couple of the Brit bike guys there. It seems their biggest problem was tuning in England at almost sea level in cold damp air and then trying to re-figure it all out in Bonneville's thin air. Shame about the breakages but that tells you Bonneville isn't a walk in the park.

Two great shows. Really enjoyed them!

Just makes you realise just how tough this LSR game is, at least they get to run unlike here in OZ, last three years have been rained out, even after a change of venue. Some ****** talented people involved that,s for sure. Thanks for the post.

as a Canuck who's never been to Bonneville, it sure gave you a feel of what it takes to go after a speed record. I take my hat off to the Brits! for all thier effort and ingenuity! What a bond there was between them all. Thanks Jay for a most enjoyable 2hrs. John.

I watched both videos and like the way the BBC presented the subject. No ridiculous forced drama and no heavey metal junk music to listen endure. I also wish the US producers would follow the BBC lead.

Oh I dunno. I kinda missed the "Go fast or go home in a body bag" drama from that Bonneville doc. a few years ago. Trying to remember home many times that was said during the show. : - )

  30. Best two hours spent in a long time . Thanks Jay
