Guide R 17 T tail light???????

I found a Guide R17T tail light last week, in a junkyard here. It has the same license lens as my Sportster, and the missing red lens looks like a match too. It has a stainless panel on top with "GUIDE R17T". Any one know what it came from?

 

According to http://sites.google.com/site/guidet...ctures-index/pictures-gm-trucks-chevrolet-gmc it is Chevrolet, GMC 1947-56 Suburban, panel tail light.

I'd like to find an LED conversion for the Guide R-17T tail light ... perhaps not common enough for Chevy Panels, but 55-72 Shovelhead and Panhead Harley's used this style tail light, so there must be an LED array out there somewhere! ... note the 1157 LED bulb with white license lamp is no where near bright enough...

 

the lens and chrome that goes around it sell new.

 

got a source? i'd like one of these for the back of my HA/GR
