Hi to all on the HAMB from Gippsland, Victoria, AUSTRALIA

I've been into Hot Rodding for a few years now. Got a 32 Ford Roadster Hi boy, Chev 350/350 and 9". Brookville body on original rails. Red ofcourse.

As a kid I was infulenced by my father that Chevrolet's were best. The family car was a '53 Chev sedan. During the 1950's most cars in oz were of British origin, with a few from Europe. American cars were Luxury items.

Post war when Canada was part of the British Empire, a no of American makes produced in Canada were available in Australia.
Fords Chevrolet Chryslers Dodge and Plymouth and Maple Leaf trucks.

Today I am enjoying my 65th birthday, Now that I am offecially retired
I hope to get to some of the unfinished projects in my garage such as a 1955 Chevrolet Belair Convertible. This is a car that was brought to oz in the early 60's. My wife and I have owned this car since 1982, about 20 years ago I decided to take the chev off the road for a "Quick Respray" I got the car into primer but then the project stalled.
My wife lays all claim to the car and is very discusted that it is taking so long. I have been telling her that I am waiting for the primer to harden.
Anyway I can talk more on the history of the 55 and how it came to Australia anothertime.

I got into fast things as a kid when my dad built a couple of Go-Karts for me and my siblings. The family and I especially had great fun at the local track down at Rosebud.(1960.) I still have the go-karts in my garage, need a bit of work but a good talking point.

About this time (1961) a mate and I got an old Capital Chev given to us, we made it go and taught ourselves to drive in it. A lot of Fun.

sorry if this sounds like my life story.
    Regards to all
    mick

G'day Mick, Welcome to the HAMB.
Don't worry about giving us too much detail in your Intro - it's all good ammo for us for later (haha)
    Anyway, enjoy your time here.
    Cheers.
