Looking for opinions what to do next. Cheap or free is good. I want to change wheels but it not in the budget right now.

    Black spark plug wires.

Save money for a wheel and tire change...

And some paint. Paint is cheap.

  6. I just posted my build thread on my '30 Sedan maybe you can get some ideas from it...

    Nice hotrod man!

Black plug wires routed under heads & around back as the mid 60s 283 and 327s were. The yellow wires on top of engine look like a hemroid .

Different Taillights and a mild chop is cheap and could go a long way.

Taillights are on the list along with steering wheel. Not gonna chop it, it took me too long to find an unchopped one. :D Any ideas on tails? I have Vintage Ford, American Pasttimes, and So-Cal close by.

Your tudor is far from horrible, and the changes you made have already improved it a lot. I agree on the plug wires, that is a cheap change. The wheels aren't a perfect look, but certainly will do ok until you can afford others. Even a set of black rims would make a real change in the overall look of the car, and you could salvage the tires and run them for a while.

For tail lights, even though they are used a lot, on a tudor 39 Ford lights look pretty good. Just keeping the rear panel simple will be the best look IMO.

Also nice to see one not chopped for a change. I like chopped cars a lot, but every so often it is refreshing to see one not cut.

That thing is not too far off.... Love that grill. You already know wheels and tires will make a HUGE difference. You could make those wheels WAY better by going to your local hardware store and get some Krylon Nickle Shimmer paint. I know it sounds kinda artsy, but goes on looking like an old magnesium wheel. Scuff them up and spray away. Then go to a tire store and buy some used tires that would be closer to what you want for size. New chrome lug nuts go a long way too.

Scuff that body up and put some color on it and build a simple hood top to cover up the engine.

Drive the hell out of it until you collect some other stuff to make it yours.

    Done.

  17. Yep, plug wires for sure. Just save to do the rest. Do what you want. Do it right. Do it once. Steelies, WWW, spider caps....
Looks pretty damn cool the way it is.
Wish somebody would trade me a sedan like that for something I have!

I like the stock height top and the stance is right on. I agree that it needs a tail light change but at least you have a set of spares for a trailer there.

The grill doesn't do a thing for me sticking way way out in front with all that space between it an the engine though. It looks like it was stuck on as an afterthought to me just because the cool guys in that magazine have ones like that.

Nice start. I have about $28 in my steel hood. Also just an idea on stock model a taillights and a location option. Good luck which ever way you go.

Just get it sorted out so it's comfortable to drive and enjoy, maybe a little paint and interior work, then drive the hell out of it.

I agree with most...plug wires and steel wheels you could probably trade or sell those off for a set of steelies...maybe even find a nice set of wires? A hood top would be nice and I agree that there does look to be a ton of space between the engine and the grill. As for tail light I would just start browsing the old tail lights. I would keep em low unless you chop the top.
Just my .02... Its a cool car just drive the shit out of it till you shake out the bugs and the rest will figure its self out!

Sell those wheels . They are ok ,but that car would be nice with steelies and bias plys. You won't have any prob moving those wheels. Also don't chop her she is sweet just the way Henry built her. Question though. Why does it look like that engine is set back so far? And I'd put a gennie 30/31 grill shell on NOT a 32 everyone has one a those it seems.

Good eye, the stock firewall is gone and the engine is set back a couple inches. Its on my list of things to fix. A grill change is a possibility, Im sure I can sell this one.

I'm not crazy about the grill either. Too big and bulky, in my opinion. I think the wheels work depending on what era you want it to look like.

A different grill, maybe a hood and some steel wheels would change the attitude totally. Of course paint would do wonders too.

Its a really cool car though.
