I only have one place to locate my temprature sender and thats the intake manifold. I also want to use a thermal switch to turn on the electrict fan. Here's the question: There are to ports on the water pump
(SBC) one on the top of the pump and one on the left (as viewed from front). These ports are for a heater which I will not use , can I put my switch in one of these? If so which one?
    Thank you for your reply's

I did not want to solder a fitting in the radiator. The wiring is already at the motor.

Why not use a centech switch from Speedway. It uses your gauge sender ,if its electric, and no other sending unit is needed.

  8. Ok forgive my ignorance but what SBC heads don't have holes for the temp gauge in them, that is a pretty common place to locate one.

You can put a t in and plumb your temp gauge and your fan switch in there. I am not sure how accurate your water pump would be, it is going to be pulling water from the radiator and not heated engine water.

You might look for a thermostat housing w/a bung in it , then put your gauge sensor in that & use the intake port for the switch..

I use a fan switch that slid into the radiator fins on my first model A. It worked great and was easy to install. Just food for thought.

I use the sensor that screws into the radiator drain pet**** with an adjustable thermal switch that along with the thermal wire are mounted out of sight. Works great!
