    Hello,

I just posted a new thread that was deleted. I'm not sure why. Could you please let me know so I won't make this error again?

    thanks

The thread was titled, "20 year old car, now vs then"

here is the body of the message:

Why is that a 20 year old car in 1983 was cool, but a 20 year car in 2013 is just old? Seems somewhere in the early 70's, Detroit just lost it's sizzle.

Of course there are some exceptions. But has anyone ever said, "Check out that sweet '91 Chevy?" What the heck happened?

  2. Arturo: I guess whats not cool about the thread is revealed in the rules. Mostly, limited to cars '64 and older. Revamp the dates maybe. Tim

    This I understand. A 20 year old car in 1983 would be a '63.

I'm not trying to be a wise acre, just thought the general topic of the thread fit well withing HAMB guidelines. 60's and older cars have a coolness that is not present in newer vehicles.

    thanks

To answer your question it's pretty obvious why a 83 doesn't come close to comparing to a 63. Not any discussion needed really.

  5. Your thread was mostly off topic.

Now its not the age of a car that makes it cool, it the era.
In 83 a 20 year old car was still a 20 year old car - its just that it was smack dab in the cool period.
    In 93 you needed a 30 year old car, 2003 a 40 year old car, and 2013 a 50 year old car.

20 years or when you start is irrelevant,

The point I was trying to make is that somewhere along the line, cars stopped being cool. A 20 year old car in 83 was cool. A 20 year old car in 2013 isn't. Guess I didn't get that idea across...

No you did, and we thought of it already.

Thats why we keep the newer ones out.
