    Tim,

Did a search, and found that the yellow coupe (top) is the same Trone Coupe.

Anaslime, The "Cavalier Coupe" was build by Monte and his father Ike, with the track nose being handled by Virgil Smith all of wich were from Long Beach. The car started out black, and was later painted yellow for and apearance on the "Dragnet" tv show. The car was then sold to a Cliff Martin in '53, and as of '03 was owned by Bill Carey of the Choppers, I not sure if he still ownes it or not. This is all pretty common info on the car, all this is sourced from HOP UP & HOT ROD, but I hope it helps. I always loved this car, it has some very unigue details, and a cl***ic profile, hope it gets restored.

    Find the car here:
-HOP UP #5: cover, pgs 12-13,77,80,84-87, & 126 (an original photo in yellow)
-HOT ROD Aug. 1951 pgs 26&27 complete with x-ray drawing of car. (this same article is reprinted in the HOP UP article too, just a little small.)
-HOT RODS of the 50's by Andy Southern, pgs 23 (nice head on shot in yellow)

I've tried several searches on U-Tube & HULU looking fror the DRAGNET episode, but had no luck, hope one of the guys on here has it.
    Good Luck -Dan

I forgot one, It is also in the infamous 1975 Pete and Jake covered issue of Rod & Custom. This iconic issue of R&C was a Copped Top issue, and the Trone coupe is show on page 24 in the late Grey Baskervilles "Choice Chops" article. Very nice shot taken down from a latter, apears to be an outake from the HOT ROD article. -Dan
