Just wanted to let every one know there are two good vintage dirt shows comeing the next two weeks. First the Webster City Vintage Reunion In Webster City Iowa on Sept 10th and 11th. Second the Cornhusker Nationals in Columbus Nebr. Sept17th and 18th. Both shows open to all vintage dirt cars (sprints midgets coupes mods stocks all pre mid 70s dirt cars). Webster Is probly the bigest show with around 100 cars but Columbus is a good show to. Most of the racing goes on in the afternoon both sat and sunday.

Talking about vintage dirt cars thought you might like this pic of a CRA legendary sprint car. Rebuilt by Buzz Shoemaker. And In the seat is the Multi Time Champ Jimmy Oskie.

I wish I could make it back up to Nebraska for this. I remember when I was a kid and my dad would take me to Sun Set Motor Speedway outside omaha and watch the stock cars fly around that dirt track...

Sad to say but the only thing left at Sunset is the building where the bar was. Houseing ran the track out a few years ago. The old bar is now used by Gary Gurdy to build the Fast Tracks slot car trakes

I remember the track at Huron S.D. when I was a kid had a Fordson tractor with a 427 for pushing those modifieds, wonder what ever happened to it? Anyone have a picture?
Tman, I grew up at the 1/2 mile in R.C. Jerry Kreber, Bailey, Don Tye. Was there the night Jerry May got killed, saw him do an awesome burnout downtown in his Hemicuda that afternoon. I ask Louie what happened to it once and he said they cut it up and buryied it.

I had no idea. I haven't been back in some time...I mean years...I just always thought nothing would ever, ever, change in Omaha....this makes me very sad...almost as sad as when they tore down the Goden Spike Drive-in. I heard they tore down Indian Hills theatre too....what were they thinking?

Couldn't make it. Had to go to Estherville for the weekend. Did see quite a few when I was heading home yesterday. Looks like I missed a good one.
