hey everyone I was hit with an offer today on my 62' Cadillac 4-door. a guy I kno offered me his 1950 Austin a40 Devon that runs but needs fuel lines to run on its own. I don't know a whole lot about these cars I kno it pretty sweet looking and a lot of people turn them in to g***ers. does anyone know the worth of one of these austins? he told me it needs some floor work and rocker panels bt the frame is solid and good to go. I kno parts are scares and I already have a hell of a time finding parts for my Hudson. but I thought id see what all u fellow gear heads know about these cool lil cars.
I don't know market value on them but I do know they are worth more if you want one than they are if you don't. I would think that one fairley solid would be worth more to me than a 4 door caddy.
Is that a car or the pickup? Those A40 pickups are sweet. Then again, a nice condition '62 Cad is a very sweet ride too, 4-doors and all.
the Austin is a car. its pretty cool lil car. I guess its mostly a personal decision between the cars lol thanks for the imput
Had to do a web search to figure out what you guys are talking about. Found this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austin_A40_Devon Ugly in a cute sort of way. Terrifying to think about merging on to an Interstate highway with four adults on board.
I'm biased but yes they are pretty cool. Not much parts wise for them but not much original stuff left after they get a domestic driveline and other updates. Some of my trim came all the way from New Zealand.
dragdoc ur pic just made me take the trade lol ive never been a huge g***er guy but I deff think that's what im gunna do with it... do u have a pics or a build thread on ur a40?
