guys look this is serious and hit home with me just talked to guy @ the store yesterday about a car show they have every year in may represented by Kentucky Low Riders car club tooheys supplies the food,drinks,door prises,tropheys,and giveaways. this will not be happening this year due to the lack of sales/profit ... bad economy!!!!!!this is the last store of 21 stores he has been there for 30+ years and never has seen it this bad???? guys i personally am taking this upon myself to boycot the local big chain auto parts stores. i hate seeing the lil guy getting hurt!!!!!!!!!!we need to pull together and try to help these guys stay open! they had my 57 ford headlight switch in nos original boxes and i know that theres no way in hell that any of the others would even come close to even ordering that and if they did it would be cheap azz tiawaneese junk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!if anybody wants the store location or info for any parts you can ask me. he had some other kool old nos tail lights and other parts that was kool as all can be!!!!!"ON THE SHELF"!!!THANKS for ya support!!!!!!!!"RAT NASTY"

 

They're still open??? Wow!
I remember back in the late 80's and early 90's when all their stores were shutting down. I heard they sold out or merged with someone.
Where is the last store located?
I know there's an old "hand painted" sign on the side of a building on a street between the airport and almond avenue. Thought it was cool when I saw it a couple years ago, but didn't think it was a Toohey's location because the paint was peeling off. Looked like it had been there for 40 years.

Used to get a kick out of their old TV commercials... "When your car goes fooey, call tooheys"

I go by there all the time. Just the other day I thought to myself there isnt alot of those type stores left. Its on the corner of Nevada and Allmond.

So that really is the location??? Seriously? And you wonder why their going out of business?

That's not only a rough part of town, but it's a SOB to get to it from any of the major roads or X-ways.
