Again with the exaggeration of the OP's intent. Term's like 'whiner' 'hissy fit' show a lack of reading comprehension. Speedway can step up and start manufacturing a vast number of part's here, in the USA where they make the $.

Congrats... No matter if you wanted to be part of it or not you just became part of Speedway's quality control. Gotta love it when the consumer IS all the quality control thay have.

And every constuction and farm boy has two or three of the same keys in their pocket. Those keys fit most every J D tractor made in the last 20 years, not too secure I would think.

Sounds to me it was just a warning about a certain part # and nothing against Speedway motors.

It's going to take more than your rant to get me to stop buying from Speedway. They are a first class organization and have always gone out of their way to make things right.

I just tried to leave a review about a hammer and anvil for trim....we all know where up north that company is....why tell others about a product that does not meet the "Warrenty of Merchantibility Law" ?

I did try to leave feedback at the company...tried 3 different times and to no avail....the anvil is not flat, it is concave, and streached my trim so it is now ruined....now would you anti-consumer types wish you had bouight that item and tried to fix your expensive piece of stainless? Or would you like to have known the flat part of the anvil is NOT FLAT.

I don't care if it is cheap or expensive....it is suppose to do what it was intended to do....and I have a mouth that express's the wrong done.

If you go back and read the posters post....he is NOT complaining about Speedway....he is for #$%^%$# sake complaining about one item that did not perform....WOW....!!!

We all know that Speedway has done some great things for the hobby, no arguing that. There are also some great parts that they sell for killer prices. There are some things that we should stay away from buying from them and everyone on here knows it. I've called them and they're going to refund it and the service was great as always. Some of you guys need to relax, the post was to inform people on a bad buy, not a bad company. CHILL! Hopefully the post saves someone the 14 bucks as intended, but I in no way bashed the company or the service, quit looking too far into things.

I've bought 2,used them and never had an issue so maybe it's not so much a 'bad buy' but just a faulty item which doesn't warrant a post.

The title of your post says otherwise, it clearly points out that you consider there to be a great many things not to buy from Speedway and that this is another one.

Speedway has always provided good service and they stand behind their parts. They will take back and exchange almost anything for another part if you order something that just won't work in your application, or change your mind.

Not all places will do that.

  14. I had the same switch in my 32 with a kill switch mine worked fine..Call Speedway they are about the easiest people to accept returns in the country...I think Speedway generally gets a bad rap here..We have been a Speedway dealer for years along with other companys and have had very little problems with any of our suppliers especially speedway...Where do you think these companys emloyee's live..I never considered Nebraska to be a Chinese province.. I deal with a lot of people from Speedway motors weekly and can state, that they are very customer motivated...there I said it ..I like Speedways products their service and their fast shipping.....Millions of customers world wide cant all be wrong!!

Another supporter of Speedway here. Most of the haters only dislike Speedway because they're big. Like was said, they offer products of all levels. Sometimes products fail. BMWs break down, space shuttles blow up and shit happens.

Return it. Exchange it. Do something before you condemn.

  17. Hypocrisy sucks

I have to look up the supply chain a little further, but at least my stickers are all printed in the USA... NV or NC.

Looking the manufacturing of them even closer to home, my garage.:D

Bought a part a while back that said 'engineered in USA, parts made in China and assembled in Mexico'. note: this part was not purchased from Speedway - I have and will continue to purchase from Speedway

For those complaining about "Made In China", are you buying only American products? Unfortunately our society has become full dependent upon cheap products. We are fat and wasteful because of it. I'm as guilty as anyone.

That switch would be closer to $100 if it was made in the USA. Speak with your wallet and buy quality, don't complain that the stuff you are paying bottom dollar for is junk.

  20. My only complaint with Speedway is the way they arrange everything in the new catalogs...not as easy to use as in the past...I know, not a big deal...I'm just used to the OLD way..LOL

I was kinda telling you not to get your feelings hurt and move on. But that is kinda fucked up that the threads fell out. But it happens to even the most reputable people sometimes.

<style>@font-face { font-family: "Times New Roman"; }p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal { margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; font-size: 12pt; font-family: "Times New Roman"; }table.MsoNormalTable { font-size: 10pt; font-family: "Times New Roman"; }div.Section1 { page: Section1; }</style> The parts market has polarized to the very high and very low ends, and each of us gets to choose. When I buy a high-end part, I expect perfection--because I&#8217;ve paid for quality! I&#8217;m pretty pissed if it fails. When I buy a cheap part, I realize I&#8217;m rolling the dice: I may have to exchange it to get a good one. There&#8217;s a reason it&#8217;s cheap! Poor tolerances, lesser materials, low quality control.

Remember when there was a middle ground? Take tools: back in the day, Snap-On and Craftsman were at the top and no-name Taiwanese crap at the bottom. But in between you had decent, moderately priced stuff, like SK and Penncraft.

    Those days are gone. Apparently there&#8217;s no money to be made chasing the middle ground anymore. Blame consumers, blame the Internet, blame the global economy. Whatever. Now it&#8217;s a polarized market and we get to choose: really good or really questionable. And pity the retailers that have to walk the line. If they stock only good stuff, they&#8217;re called &#8220;gougers.&#8221; If they stock only cheap stuff, they&#8217;re &#8220;crap merchants.&#8221;

I bought a $15 gas tank rollover valve from Speedway and it didnt fit because I was too stupid to know what thread the hole was. I wanted to send it back for a return and sent them an email, about an hour later I had an email from paypail saying I had a $15 refund from Speedway, and then an email from Speedway telling me they refunded me and didnt even want the part back. Now that is service if you ask me...

    So true....

It's the American corporate way . You go to your local auto parts store and most of your replacement parts are either made in China or Mexico . I bought an AC Delco part yesterday . I open the box and the part has a Made in China sticker on it . Go figure! So I wouldn't pick on Speedway. Just make wise choices of your purchases.
PS.... most of Eastwoods tools are made it China. I still buy them

This may be long winded....cause that's how I am....so bear with me...

I made a deal with myself that NO MATTER WHAT I would not cut corners to finish my AD....that included parts and labor, no cut corners.

I have pained myself to find the highest quality parts....not nessecarily the most expensive parts....the majority of which I wanted sourced from USA manufactures....

I have found in some instances that it is impossible...

That said I have bought a bunch of stuff for my truck build that USA parts were quite honestly beyond my budget (stuff like flush mount gas filler necks and battery post relocators....things with no real moving parts to wear out or break) all of the above things (and like items) I was able to source from Speedway. They have always treated me good and their customer service, though I have not had the chance to use it is second to none.

Conversely, many of the so called high qualityarts I have purchased from USA manufactures were honestly crap....and the USA vendors I purchased them from weren't any better in the customer service department....

It is what it is in today's market.

What dale and rustyford said.... It sounds like the latch wasn't engaged,........Put it back in, and see if it engages the shaft.

Yes, Speedway will exchange it or refund your money. About 7 years ago I worked for Speedway as a street rod tech and the biggest problem with them is that they let the customer be the quality control way too much. I kept feilding a lot of calls about the braded brake lines not screwing onto the frame adapters, so one day I had the warehouse pull a dozen lines and a dozen adapters. I did not find one that would fit right. They sent out new lines, but what about the hassle of being in the middle of a project, and then having to wait for the same parts to be shipped to you to finish it. Also they would not let us tell the customer the product was an offshore part. I could tell a customer that the part came from Vintique, and that was O.K. but not that their parts were an offshore product. That is not good customer service. By law they have to have a country of origan on the box, but you were not allowed to tell the customer that. That is just not right

Au contraire. It's the way of the American consumer who buys on price before quality, then complains when the quality is poor. If they wanted better quality at a higher price, corporate America would give it to them. That is the American corporate way.
