Why did guys start this "different color" firewall. I see it a lot in the last couple of years. I still like the firewall body color and the inner fenders body color.Or is this old fashioned bob
Go white, my man - it'll look great. When I got my '40 Ford P/U the firewall was black as was the underside of the hood. It was hard to see anything under there so I painted them a light silver/gray. It worked out great. Now when you open the hood everything lights right up.
white undercarriage, white wheel wells, and white firewall/inner fenders.. were all a traditional trend in 1959-60+.
there's a little oil smudge on it in that photo but i think it reads as clean for the same reason its easy to keep a white car "clean" and hard to keep a black car clean. As for why I painted it white? I guess I never thought about it. i just went to paint it and thought "man white would be *****en!" and did it haha
My ‘40 coupe. All my cars had white firewalls except my roadster Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
