Nice work!! Well placed cuts sure make the task of stitching it all back together much easier! It looks like there were virtually no filler panels at all, which is a testament to the guy who laid out the cut lines. I like the trick of laying out the masking tape and then spraying the blue dykem. I like the body shape of the '33 and '34 Plymouth sedans. They have a lot of the same shapes as the Fords of the same years.
We will have a 3/8 strip filler panel a few inches in the front of the roof because we dont want to lean the front post. JIMENEZ BROS CUSTOMS
Jimenez Bros Customs Today we worked on body mounts and putting in the filler piece on the roof and just trying to complete the chop on it. We also started putting together the chassis . The car is gonna have a Chevy motor and run on the original wheels as you can see in the pics. Our plans are to have the motor mounts and transmission mounts done by the end of the week for some more mock up. Its coming along faster then we thought, Thanks to the crew we have now. We mount the body solid to the frame and weld in square tube framing before chopping it. The reason is if you chop it on something else you will have problems with your gaps and alignment. This works out best for us on every chop we do , i will post pics when finished. framing should be visible in the photos.
Cain, that is a great build, please keep updating, what are the front and rear tire sizes? We also have a 33 Plymouth, this will give us some inspiration when we actually start the build. Do you know if it's a PC or PD? If you have the grill shell, its easy to tell by the radiator hole in it.
Sweet pics of that machine. For years we have looked for some reliable high quality photos of interior and exterior of the 33 plymouth. Your photos have shed new light on some very nagging questions. would love to see some good photos of the hood secction and grill also were you get your parts. Tahnks a million for posting those pics.
I hate that there must have been some issue here and Cain got banned? But I wanted to see this car and in this thread it says it would be done for GNRS and I didn't get out there. I have not seen any finished images of it posted yet.
It was there but not finished. The chop looked great and the car was in a satin black finish. I didn't see a single issue with the fit and finish. It's going to be a beautiful car when it's done. The boys do some nice work. Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
