Hello Hambers, I need your help! I am restoring a 1947 Chevy and last night someone stole all of my wood and woodie specific door regulators and hardware from my house. All thwe wood was brand new and still in crates. I had four original rear doors (1 restored) and 2 front doors that were for door regulator parts. I also had 3 sets of original door panels for trim pieces and patterns. I had other rear fenders in the trailer along with some surfboard, etc. The only reason I had all of this in a trailer is because I epoxy coated my floor over the weekend and was waiting for the floor the cure/dry. The trailer was locked in my driveway. Chain thru the wheel and wrapped around the axle. When I woke up to take my kids to school the trailer was gone and several cut locks and chain were all that remained on the ground. My neighbor said she saw a late model truck taking off at about 2 a.m. from our driveway but didn't think to call the police. Please tell all of your friend to keep an eye out. feel free to place a wanted ad for woodie parts and let me know if you get any hits. I appreciate any help you can give. I have been collecting parts and saving for wood for the past 6 years and was about ready to start building the woodie. It is tough when raising a family and living in the San Francisco Bay Area making a modest livivng. My dream of building my woodie is not over but a huge bump in the road. Just found out Christmas eve my Mom has stage 4 cancer not a good month...
Hello mate that's a sad story, sorry to hear these thieving *******s have done this, sounds like they targeted your trailer and not the contents so the stuff may not come up for sale, hopefully the police will find the trailer tho. All the best with the search and good on you for not lett
Letting it stop the rebuild, you will get it done ok. I'm over in the UK so Jo help in the search just hope you find your stuff.
Thanks, I am letting all the local car groups, clubs, etc. know about the theft. These parts are very specific and only a very few people which most of them I know will know my situation.
Sorry about your plight but it's obvious that they knew what you had and that means they know you directly or indirectly. It's possible that it could be one of those car groups/clubs.
I added you to my contact list. I will start placing a few local adds & watch for parts for sale add. I'll see if I can get any hits. I'm about 400 miles from your area. We will get THE SUMMNA BEACHES, eventually. The only thing worst than a thief, is a thief that steals your dreams... They both should have there fingers cut off.
Your post may get more attention if you added "Stolen" to it's heading??? Good luck with getting your parts back.
The thieves most likely dumped the trailer so what's the point? It's the parts that need to be watched for.
Stolen - I am still looking for my Woodie Parts. It has been a little over a year and these parts still have not shown up ? Please keep an eye out for these parts. Thanks, Woodie Joe
