Sold a Ford Model T in Florida to a guy in Washington. Wondering if a rate calculator exist? Has anyone heard of such a thing?
Go to the cl***ified section and start looking for shippers. Next get out the phone. Rates change all the time based on gas prices and who is driving their truck where. Can it be driven on and off of the truck or will there be a problem loading it? If you want to take it apart and ship it in pieces there is a rate calculator at USPS.COM. Charlie Stephens
Try Uship.com it is kind of a transporters auction where companies make offers to move stuff for folks. If you find a company looking for a back load it can work in your favour. I've used them twice now for moving bulky parts purchases but they do whole vehicles as well. Not only that but you can get guys heading home with an empty car trailer looking to gain a little gas money as was the case with both my hookups. One was a guy who drove across country to collect a boat he had purchased and the other was by a gal moving to Las Vegas who had spare room in her truck. Both were door to door deliveries without any h***les. If you got a little time it will work to your advantage...
