I had been 2 years ago and wasn't planning to go back this soon, but the Woodie, Wagon & Sedan Delivery room sounded to good to miss. My brother is an old surfer, so he was interested too. Friday morning, I left from Philly, he left from Boston, and we were at the Fairplex by 2 pm. We headed first to Building 9.
Saturday morning, we were up early as we were still on East Coast time. Since we had time, we drove to Huntington Beach for the Donut thing. It was a wash out, but at least we ate donuts. After that we went to the pier to watch surfers (and wildlife).
Next stop was the Petersen Museum. I had reserved spots on the Vault Tour after hearing about it here. Couldn't take pictures in the vault, but here are a few others.
We were back at Pomona by mid afternoon. Checked out all the outside cars and then went through all the buildings again. Isky at the H&H Flathead tent. Bill Hines is da man! This should get me through the rest of the winter now. Met up with some HAMBers, saw lots of cool cars and got away from the 12 degree weather. Was at the airport Sunday morning for a 6 am flight and back home at 6 pm. My brother isn't a ******** car person, but he loved it. Now we're thinking of doing the LA Roadster Show some time and would take in a few baseball games too.
You should try to come back in June for the LA Roadster Show. The show inside is good, the parking lot show (for the non-roadsters) is even better, and the swap meet kicks ***! Bring money.
Thanks for the pics! X2 for the LARS! Dad has driven his roaster out from VT twice(I flew ) ...well worth it!
Thanks for the great photos and glad u had a great trip with your bro. Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
Hey, Thanks for posting my car. We won Best of Show for the special awards that were done for the G***er's and Altered's room. Hope you had a great trip
Don, that car is so bad***. I must have checked that car out for a solid 15 minutes. It's got a great history, and it's in really nice shape. I've seen the car in your avatar for years, and it was finally cool to see it in person.
Saw your car there Don, told the wife "I see that avatar all the time on HAMB" She said Hon you and that HAMB, thats nice dear. Women got to love them.
Lucky - Damn, I missed it. Maybe it was hidden behind Magnum P.I.'s Ferrari. Louvers - We were still driving back from Petersen at the Meet & Greet time, so I missed it. Would have liked to meet you since I really admired some of your louver layouts in that one thread.
