Jeff, what is the color code and name on your wagon? I saw this wagon a while back when I did a Google search for wagons to decide on a color when I had my 63 Chevy II wagon and loved this color but didn't know who's it was. I'd still like to know for future reference. I wanted to do the same thing with that color and a pure pearl white roof.
SUBSCRIBED!!!!!! I'm building one out of the Fairlane wagoon. There actually is awesome surf near me, so I don't feel too much like a poser... which I am. Going 2 tone, light colours so it won't get too hot in the summer. already started collecting the surf and speed stickers Surf shops have been super nice in discounting them for me (some free) They dig the wagon. I had a "surf wagon" back a couple years. I'll look for a pcture you should get a chuckle out of it. 1962 Morris Mini Wagon lol!
So are you swapping the Jag running gear into the Ford or the Ford station wagon roof onto the Jag? <label for="rb_iconid_10"></label>
I just picked this up last weekend. I'm going to give it a very MILD kustom treatment, change the wheels and tires, give it the right stance and add my original "Aloha" surf racks and a longboard or two (the ones I actually surf on).
So Blacktopscapper......where can I see about getting one of your Aloha surf racks ??? Wicked wagon !
This is my wagon, seeing as there is no surfing within a 14 hour drive, there will be no surfboard on it. My son is really into skateboarding so I have gone that route instead. Just finished flaking the dash, will be adding some more flake to the outside as well as some custom hudcaps.
Any body wanting to see surf wagons, get on some of the current gnrs show posts, never have I seen such a killer collection of woodies and surf look rigs! `sololobo~
Ever since we finished the wagon people keep asking us when are we gonna get a surf board?,,seriously? "I don't surf and we live 300 miles from the coast." I see it from time to time but a wagon with a surf board mounted to the top of the car this far inland just looks hokey to me. HRP
Funny, I see people get upset/argue over the surfboard issue. To me, it's a theme. No different than someone who builds a pro-street and never sees the track.....or puts sponsor decals all over and never races. Just not worth getting heated over. Actually not too much different than period based stuff. An open T-bucket / roadster really doesn't see a lot of street time around here. That, to me is warm weather/ CA / never rains stuff.
Love the: TIKI GRILL THE AMAZON THE BUG w. SURF RACK THE RED WAGON (that doesn't get out much) N' WOODIES!...WOODIES ROCK!
This is a great thread...keep up with the cool pics... I wonder if snow surfboards would qualify for us up here...
My crate. There are still a number of us woodie guys that actually ride the boards that are strapped on our racks. This is on the road home to Santa Cruz from the Wavecrest Woodie meet in Encinitas. A stop-over at San Onofre A few extra stickers (and a big Suburban), but this photo could have been taken years ago: I posted a bunch of Wavecrest photos on our shop website: http://www.seabrighthotrods.com/?p=911
