My sons teacher asked the class what they would do if they had some money and to draw it.......Here is what my son drew.
Thats coooo-el! My 4 year old Grandaughter wanted to go for a ride in Grandpas hotrod! I took her for a spin thru town and when I asked her how she liked it she says" Lets go out on the BIG road!" so when I gently ran it thru the first 4 gears and got up to 70 very quickly she was ALLLLL SMILES!!!!
That boy has a excellent head start. My nephew always calls friends the night before when I take him to school, he wants to be sure they see him get out of the '52 which he already claimed fro his first vehicle.
Love these stories. I have a 72 Nova in the corner of the garage, been there 15 years so far, rust free and all apart. I kinda lost interest in the muscle car stuff for now. He asked me when am I gonna put it together? I said why? He said, When I am ready to drive I need it to be ready, I am not spending all my money on a car when that one just sits there! HE is so funny and it is so honest. Funny the things they come up with.
That is great, and it lead to some more great stories. Thanks for putting a big on my face at the end of a long work day.
that's actually a very good drawing for a 5 y.o., I see the rear vision mirror, steering column, seat and the flaming exhaust........
Excellent! Your son is on the right track. Old cars is a great family hobby. My son Buddy, his son and I attend Hershey every year, its a tradition. Buddy will soon be 48 years old and he still has his first two cars. We just got back from the Mecum Auction in Florida. We didnt buy anything but we had a great time. Enjoy the time with your son, they grow up too quick! Buddy and I 1972<O</O Buddy's first car, he still has it <O</O
Cool pic I'm glad to see young people involved in the hobby, I have a 5 yr old grand daughter whom I have corrupted, she comes over on the week ends to stay and she brings her work clothes. She has already claimed my tool boxes lol.
And to think, some people put their sons in tap dance classes.... You're definitely doing something right!
I can only hope my kids will be into hot rods like I am, but if they're not I would accept it. Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
wow....sounds like a few people need to have some extra hot rod projects in the planning stages. At least that would be my excuse....
That's awesome. You've made an indelible impression on his young mind, at least he didn't draw 3 hotrods, and say "with $10,000 I could build 3 hotrods!" So there's still hope for him
