Never heard of him but I would think that a screen name like temporary 2222 would be a red flag. tmp was what we always name our temp files when I was doing civil design.
tmp joined on Jan. 28th and was banned by Ryan a few days later after trying to rip some of us off. Hopefully nobody sent him money.
He would't give me an address when he said he had the parts I needed. Only wanted me to send money via Western Union. He tried several members here but they saw through him.
THANK YOU my bretheren. I posted WANTED Model A Roadster Parts here on the HAMB. Got a email. Several actually. Even sent a pic of "the truck" he was parting out. It looked complete asked him why would he pull such a gem apart and he said the motor was bad. Then he said "my son works for Fedex so shipping is reasonable." I actually spoke to him sounded like he was in a Pub and had a English accent. I asked him - say is that accent UK or SA and he replied - no I'm from Indiana. THat sent the bells off and he sounds like he's 20-30 something. I also thought the email he sent looked to be a recant of mine almost word for word. The final flag was when I told him - can you send me a picture of the parts (off the truck) and he said his "mechanic" already had. That was it. No reply on the address to send money either. If yall want to really harass him the cell number he will answer is 765 377 4402 appears to be a Indiana number. You folks are the best. Do let us know if your headed to Monterey Ca and we'll make sure you have a good time. Dennis
You should have bought the swap meet parts we looked at! Steer clear my friend= scammer. But since you posted his #,I think we can play with him a lil..........
With a VoIP phone (Voice over Internet Protocol) from Vonage or similar providers, you can get a number from pretty much anywhere in the US, and use it anywhere in the world that you have a high speed internet connection. An Indiana phone number can ring a phone in Nigeria, no trouble at all. So while this guy says he's from Indiana, he could well be sitting in a pub in London, selling invisible Model A parts.
He's not in Indiana its a spoofed number. I think that there is a way to set up an account with Western Union and pick up your cash anywhere. I have been thinking about this, you can block your email adress on the HAMB I believe so that no one can email you. Maybe that is a good diea when running a wanted ad. let me drop the boss a note that may be something he can arrange if it is not already a possible.
I sent his info over to Killbillet and he was banned there. Trying to think of other sites he might try.
