You're kidding!?!?!? Well that's what I thought anyway when I saw you could actually get them for my less than popular Rambler more-door. Bought a bunch of stuff through South Texas AMC and it arrived in a week. Pretty good I reckon considering I'm halfway around the world. Got a bunch of other stuff too, including window 'fuzzies', bailey channel (the stuff the gl*** slides in), a new boot seal, boot mat, and a couple of other bits and pieces. The goodies... Check it out. Looks like a restored car now, even has the jacking instructions. I used to have one on the car (all wrinkled and rooted) but it had to go when I had the first respray. Couldn't resist. Check out that nice new, soft and squishy boot seal. I just couldn't resist and had to get the 'Typhoon 290 4-Barrel High Compression' sticker. I'll have those restorers fooled yet! Bwahahahahaha... Wow! Door frames, windows, everything. Don't need that ski jacket any more! Did I mention the flake? Probably can't see them, but it's even got nice new fuzzy felt thingamies. I had made up some new ones years ago, but the were nowhere near as nice as these. The right clips, right length, EVERYTHING!!!
Had a hot rod club meeting tonight, so it was a perfect time to test out the new rubber and lace... Had to stop on the way back and get some pics. ...and check out what the flake looks like under some floodlights. Cool...
Hehe...u love that thing Boris! Hey Devilrod! Know of anyone with a grey motor for sale or who rebuilds them? Mines on its way out...eeeep. Cheers MAIKI
I SOOOOOOOO love that flake! I could stare at it all day. I can remember getting excited when I bought the plaid trunk mats for my 67 Mustang........ I was 16. Now at 24 I drill a hole thru the spare tire well so the ice has a place to drain after it's melted; and yet here we have Boris, whos just bought his mats and felts and is as giddy as a 16 year old girl........the irony of it all! All in all, it is CERTAINLY the best looking Rambler I've ever seen. **x Brandy
Hey Boris, watch out for that air cleaner decal as i got one and it was paper based and as soon as moisture got to it the thing started curling and left a sticky mess on my brand new aire cleaner in my Gremlin other than that damn man yer Rompin Rambler is the ducks guts!!
Great looking Rambler, but then again, aren't they all?? I've been looking for a source for all this stuff for my '62 Longroof American. Good to hear a recommendation for a reputable company. I'll have to check them out.
**snickers**If it helps, I'll be 25 middle of December and I could use the rubber for my trunk. No, good on Boris for replacing the simple stuff........****s when you can snorkel in your trunk after washing it. **x Brandy
Holeeeeee Sheeeeeit!!!! He's found out how to turn a computer on. Un-****ing-believable! Good to hear from you mate. We're heading back just before Christmas. Baby is due Nov 15th, so we'll let everything settle down for a couple of weeks and then head over. Got the baby seat anchor already installed. HotRod60 - That paper sticker was probably made for restorers who were just worried about making their engine look 'correct'. This one is a plastic foil-based sticker and it STICKS! Should be OK and if it falls apart, I'll spend another FOUR BUCKS!
Well, since you're gonna be 25 in a Decmeber, that makes all the difference in the world. As for snorkeling in your trunk, I'll avoid all the obvious lurid replies and just say, "I'd pay to see you do that." Yep, simple stuff can make all the difference some times.
Brandy - I know it's hard to understand how some apparently sane person could love their Rambler sedan so much, but I'm a sentimental guy and this car has a bunch of memories for me. It was Grandad's car from new and I used to get dropped off to primary school in it. It's always been around and is a fond reminder of my much loved late Grandfather. I've had it since I was 19, i.e. half my life, so I've owned it longer now than my Grandad had it. It's the only car I've ever owned, I've been everywhere in it, cruised it, raced it, blown it up on occ***ion and generally had a really good time. Yeah... I guess I do love it.
Not really. There's a breakers yard directly across the street from my house (yeah now my insanity makes sense) and the guy has a Rambler American sedan. Two years ago I was dead set on buying it. I LOVED it. But my friends made fun of me, gave me the "You have SO many other cooler cars to build" speech. That car's still sitting there waiting for me. As for you and yours, you just keep pouring the fuel on my fire. Nice story though, very sweet! I didn't get lucky enough to get a grandparents car , all I got was a collection of straight razors and the ability to letter. Better luck next lifetime. **x Brandy
Oh... is that how come you can do all those fancy colours and stuff with your words? All I have is a Computer Science Degree. Still do PLENTY of dumb things. LOL
NO! It's because I'm a girl! Oh yeah, well I have a medical degree AND a 4 door too! My pomps bigger then your pomp. I've never done anything dumb.......but I've dated plenty of it. **x Brandy
