Hello, My name is Kevin Young. I live in Peoria, AZ (a suburb of Phoenix). I have always been a car nut. I have some cars from the 60s. But, I have always been interested in the early Fords. So, I recently bought a 1936 Ford pickup. I am intrigued, although ignorant, with the Flathead V8, banjo rear end, transverse springs and so on. I have already had an interesting breakdown. The right rear axle snapped just next to the gear. I was INCREDIBLY fortunate that when it broke, there was a little bit of a bump on the gear side which kept the axle from departing! So, I have had an adventure finding a replacement axle and axle tube (turns out the axle tube was bent and I am sure that is what actually caused the axle to fail) and then rebuilding the rear end of this 75 year old truck. I look forward to being a part of this forum.
Welcome Kevin from London (work) (and Perth WA (home)) Your 36 pickup looks like it's a great first rod. You'll get lots of experience with changing out bits that keep breaking - until you put a SBC in it (haha). Cheers.
