A buddy of mine went home from work as he ran into a guy who owns this 60 Ford . It´s supposed to be an old American kustom . I ´m sure I´ve seen it on pics, but none of us knows anything about its history. Even the owner doesn´t know much about it. So any input on this car is highly appriciated! Thanks in advance! Chris
Update: The lettering on the front fender says: "Pinstriping by Watson (maybe Larry??) and Gene Winfield". I´m just curious what this car´s doing right here in Germany... Chris
All things this car and the Kennedy car have in common is they both are white '60 Ford Starliners. Chris,,regarding the lettering on the front fender.I think somebody wanted to make it look like if Watson and Winfield did the paint. That's what I believe, just a guess...it's a cool looking car though and I don't know a thing about it.Komisch, sind beide aus Deutschland und sprechen Englisch miteinander... Zurück nach oben/Back to the top.
Ja, irgendwie komisch,hahaha... There was a pic of this car in the March 1998 issue of a German car mag, Chrom & Flammen. It says it was for sale at the Pomona swap meet for $7500. Here´s a pic.
I think that was the car that was getting pinstriped at the Mooneyes shindig a few years ago (The last one that was held at Mooneyes). That's all I can say about it though.
I´ve just dug out a copy of the March/1998 Chrom and Flammen issue to compare the plates....the plates at the Pomona swap reads 3TV 8609 and so does the plate in the actual pic above which was taken a couple of days ago in Berlin...
I know this guy Ted that lives here in Burbank, he use to own that car. He bought it to flip & make some $, but he had it for quite a while. When I see him, I will ask him & get back to you.
Not sure about the Starliner-though it does look like the old '60 off of the old AMT box from '60, but that pink Merc sure is cool.
Convertibles are called Sunliners. Skyliner was the name for 57-59 retractables. I like the sound of that. "Hey Baby! Come on and take a ride in my new Retractable."
