I have a pair of early (1929?) Brown Stabilite headlights that I'd like to convert to a modern socket for halogens. Any one here know any easy method?

Why not just buy a pair of H4 bulbs with sockets... On eGay.....

  3. Depending on which socket you currently have (there was a lot of standardization) you might be able to replate your reflectors and use one of the "Brite" bulbs from Ron Francis. Not Halogen, but work great. Well worth checking out before you spend too much time and money. (800) 292-1940, wire-works.com

There are a few company's that make a kit to update your headlights using a new reflector, seals, sockets and bulbs.

They make a world of difference. HRP

The lights are in new condition, I only wanted to know if the hamb members knew of specific parts, save me a bunch of work finding them. I need to change the sockets, how to fasten new ones?

  6. I took a small dremel and ground out the hole to the right shapes for the new halogen to twist and lock in in the reflector and then ran the wires out of a rubber gromet where the original light plug was in the buckets. Halogen bulb #9005 (1930 chevy originals)

i got a kit from Speedway to put Halogen bulbs in my '36 pickup, workred great. Looks a lot better than a sealed beam conversion.
