There was a guy selling a 4 door hardtop 57 mercury from New Mexico.. It looked solid. Do a search in the cars for sale. I am buying a 57 that a guy is holding for me.. Is it a 2 door or four door? What color combo and options? Do you go to Hershey? I am hoping to go this coming October..
It's a 2 dr hardtop I've been doing alot of research but can't find can mounts , and the braces under the floor it's black and white ( black bottom black top and white middle ) its all here but it's rough has power everything very nice car and I would like to make it out there but by the looks of this car it will be 2 years before it sees the road
Also Big M out of California has a lot of 57 mercury stuff... Keep me posted on your 57... He is on here but I am not sure of his name..
Man when I was a kid we lived in Ca. it was 1965 my Dad and Mon decided to move back here we had a 57 turnpike cruizer it was white with a green inserts and green interior it was a gorgeous car loaded. We drove it all the way across country to Pa. When we crossed the desert we even used a water bag over the hood orniment to keep her cool. That thing could fly I loved sitting behind the wheel playing with the knobs and ****ons (push ****on trans) I can't wait to see pics of her and watch your progress. Just about every car or truck I have in my possesion was one we had or my grandfather had or some family member had. I call them time machines because thats what they do for me when I sit behind the wheel time stands still just for a second. Good luck on your build if I can be of help let me know......nice to know there is one of those in Pa.
His name is john. His name on here is Big M. That green is probably called Tahitan green. When I get my turnpike I am going to paint the white green and it will be two tone yellow and green. I would love to see the color combo... I hope to see it sometime when in Hershey...

Welcome from Kansas City, seen a '57 Turnpike, a pinkish and white at a ford show in Liberty, MO two years ago...sweet ride.
I haven't seen one in my life time until this one these cars did not make it up here with the weather conditions
Hey Turnpike what part of Pa are you from? Spring Carlisle would be a good place to check out some parts. Every ones there itching to buy and sell I always find some real obsolete stuff there. I sold a set of Edsel stationwagon tail lights there once didnt even have them nwith me, heard some guy say he was looking for a pair told him I had them, he handed me the cash and I sent them out to him when I got back to the shop.
Thanks raven53 I will have to give them a call I got the car running today didn't run it long cause its snowing here and I am from easton pa hope to get it running half way decent to move tomorrow into my garage got to charge my battery up and hope the snow doesn't get to deep!

Good luck. My Turnpike looked pretty solid until I blasted it. I have now replaced the trunk pan, the rear quarters lower, the upper rear wheel wells inner and outer, the rockers outer on one side, inner and outer on the other sided, the floor pans all four, and the p***enger toe board. The metal on the car is now in pretty good shape. It is a labor of love. There are some great manufactures of replacement floor pans out there now. There are also some really poor ones on ebay. I know I purchased both. When you get to the point you need then let me know and I can pull info and point you in the right direction. The ebay pans were much cheaper but virtually unusable. Many of the parts you will just have to custom fab if the metal is shot or watch for nos parts.
