we will be adding them when the floor is in and steering done ... makes it easy to get in and weld stuff when they are out
Mike -- I sent an answer to your PM, check it out. I agree with Rich about the extra diagonal along the seat side and maybe another forward to the firewall bar. Both are shown in NHRA page for Altereds/Funny Cars 10.0 sec or slower. Just a safety suggestion. Like how your floor works out with that little trans in the foot area, mine with the PG is a mess. Car is looking real nice, you guys have been doing a great job.
(injected27) i think the rules read 1 1/4 .118 ... i will check them rules out before putting them in little bars =little weight.... still looking for some light weight wheels for front trying to stay old skool with the wheels but also cheap .. also front bolt pattern is small car chevy every wheel i fined is ford
1 1/4 is the up and down bars wich can lean up to 30 degrees. The diagnal bars ar 3/4 unless you use a x or k then they can be 5/8. Thats the way I read it. But everyone has there own way of seeing it.
Mike, Your right 1 1/4" .118 MS, think safety, save some weight another place. I'm sure you can find some narrow 14 0r 13" Chevy 5 on 4.75 rims from some late model small size cars. A set of 4" x 15" smooth steelies are lighter than the 17" spoke I run, but I like the look. If I really wanted to lighten my ride I would find a smaller driver or loss 50# ( new drive would be easer ) and I get an added advantage in that he can see the lights clearly.
The bars I am talking about have a 3 in a box on them. 3 says If x or k is used then 5/8 x .058, otherwise E. E on the chart is 3/4. The .058 is for chromoly. So it would be .118. Which would mean you would have to use .120 DOM. The D bars you already have installed have to be 1 1/4 x .118.
Mike, I picked up a flyer for Tucsons' reunion race this weekend I'll pm you the info when I get home tonite.
(injected27) thanks for pointing that out... (300racr) we are making plans on going down to the old pueblo if all goes good on the street will will be there .....

I'm afraid I have some bad news folks...The Ron Miller memorial race scheduled for March 16th has been cancelled due to the closure of Speedworld expected to happen Saturday Febuary 9th. With the State and County making it almost unrealistic in their demands and political shenanigans in the trying of the track to work something out to stay open. Barona Dragstrip in San Diego area is having there 1st Antique Drags of the year on 4/21/13, its an 1/8 mile track and old6rodder ran there last year and had a great time, 10-12 passes in a day is no problem. I had plained to attend but our first race with ANRA is the weekend of 4/20-21/13 so I will have to make the second race down there on 10/6/13. I know it is a long drive but I hope you guys can make the trip to Famoso for the ANRA Opener. I think you would like the group and the race setup. Also the Jr Dragsters run at all but one ANRA event. May want to check for sure.
Tom, may look into doing something in the future with ANRA .I need to talk to Butch and see what he thinks.
ok so heres the deal we got the front axle and it was set up to run f100 spindles and drums however f100 spindles are really big and heavy so i found some ford econoline spindles and hubs.. How ever they take a small king pin and f100 takes a large pin so with some help from a good friend we bored them out to fit the big f100 king pins took some time but we got it big thanks goes out to Mr Dub boyles for helping us on our qwest to go racing
Nice adapter Mike, so was the intake a small or big Rochester 2G pattern? Are you going to run a big or small 2G carb or a Weber? Nice to have a mill when you need it, better to have a friend with one that knows how to use it and make fast work of problems.
the carb is to big for the intake .we are running a big rochester later we will look into a better carb set up
got the spindles on front end done ..... will work on firewall and floor in the am got some good news today from the rumor mill fingers crossed firebird will close for a little bit then reopen with a management company running it tell they can fined someone that wants the lease ... its about 50 miles from the house but always had good luck there....
