:confused:Just bolted up my "Mcleod Street Twin" clutch to my SBC, put the Lakewood scattersheild on, measured up for throw out bearing - was going to use a Quartermaster 710100 that I had, but it dont fit! set up height is 2.775" - that's the measurement from front of trans to clutch fingers, the installed height of the bearing is 3.100" - which leaves minus 0.345" and I still need 0.100" clearance... anybody else used a street twin clutch and had this problem - and how did you overcome it?

You might have to use the Mcleod adjustable t. o. bearing.

Well it looks like you have a 64001-00-07 I'd think the wise thing to do would be to call Mcleod in the morning and ask which one to use. It's a hell of a lot better to get the info from them than to get a dozen half assed answers from the wild guess brigade.

The Adjustable one that 66nova383 mentioned is probably one way that you could go but I'd still want their tech guy's input. They may even have it on their website if you poke around a bit.

good spotting there Mr48, it's a 63001-00-07, but in any case I think your advice is good... I'm going to contact McLeod tech and get the real oil from them. you know how it is I put it out there just in case there is man of wisdom having already done this with a "magic" inexpensive solution....

The simplest fix is to buy or make another front bellhousing sheild to move the can back another .125. If there is any interferance just cut a bigger opening in the spacer. Your can was never designed for a double disc and you must move it back to get the measurment correct.

i think the street twin uses a dedicated flywheel. are you using a stock flywheel?

Guys, I bought a kit that has flywheel and clutch included but not the fork because I intended to use the quartermaster hydraulic throwout I had on hand. Searching the net it looks like Howe do a short hydraulic bearing #8288 as do McLeod #1301, the Howe is $120 and the McLeod is $450... more investigating me thinks... will let you know the outcome
