    8 inch out of a 70's Dart ******* size Mopar.

    Those motorhome/rv shells come apart in a hurry with a sawzall and a demolition blade. If it is covered with aluminum you have good s**** value in the aluminum. I cut a camp trailer apart and the whole body shell minus the aluminum stacked in the back of my longbed pickup for a trip to the dump in 3 and 4 ft wide sections.

    if the appliances work you can sell them or set the fridge in the shop and plug it into 110 for a small beverage fridge.

    I jacked up a radiator cap once and put a decent runner under it.
    Get the Motorhome. Theres a bunch of things you can do with them Fresno has farms all around, maybe someone wants a free shop, chicken coop.

    I mite be wrong but I think all motor home 727s are different from the car 727s. I was goin to pull a 440-727 out of a motorhome and noticed the yoke was part of the tail shaft. I pulled the 440 only and got a p***enger car 727. You would need to put a slip yoke in the drive shaft. Or get a car 727 that has the normal tail shaft and yoke.

    1000 bucks and about 300 in gas... Not bad in my opinion.. The wagon has the motor out of the 4 door savoy. The original was junked. So I'm gonna pull the engine back out and get that 440 slapped in!!! Savoy is so damn straight, and mint inside!

    My .02 worth, If a 350 is what your budget dictates to get it on the road, then go with it. Its easy to spend other peoples money, and there Isn't a mopar guy out there who would advocate any non mopar part on a mopar car. If you can score and dispose of the motorhome, go for it, otherwise go with what you have, and upgrade to what you want later. I'd rather see an old car on the road now, than sitting and rotting until Someday may or may not come.
    While the Motorhome is an appealing option, I have found some good deals on running mopar big blocks and transmissions in the Fresno/Visalia area. My 413/ torquflite from a 65 Imperial was $250, and I saw my old 71 Chrysler with a running/driving 383 mag on cl for 450, and many other cheap 361/383, 413's for sale. For that matter, same with 318 vans and trucks.

    That motorhome 440 is different from a regular car or pickup 440 in several ways!

    First, the heads and waterpump are plumbed differently. In the MH, the waterpump housing and the front of the heads ARE different, as they are plumbed directly into the front of the heads. You'll need a car/pickup set of heads and a water pump housing to work in your car. The accessory bracketsare going to be different, too.

    As for the transmission, the e-brake is located on the tailshaft on the 727, but SO IS YOUR wagon's e-brake! You will have to use a later ('66-newer) shifter on that MH 727. If your car is a push-****on shift, that will not work at all with that transmission on the 440. What I had in mind for my old '56 Plymouth wagon was to use a pair of '64 - '69 Dart buckets and a console with shifter from a '66 - '70 B-body or C-body Mopar (same). I test-fit the parts when I had everything, and they fit like they were made for the car!

    There is no such thing as an 8" Mopar rear, but there is an 8-1/4", an 8-3/4", and a wussy little 7-1/4" axle that will fit your car. Look for a '67 - '69 A-body rear ***embly (NOT cheap these days!!!) or a '66 - '67 B-body rear axle, and you will be in good shape. Mine had the '66 B-body 8-3/4" rear under it.

    Sweet deal, and awesome that it sounds like the 440 swap is going to happen!

    If you really have trouble moving the camper around, pull off whatever you want to keep and whatever you can sell and either call a junkyard to pick up the hull or post it on Craigslist for the s**** dealers to buy from you. Either way, you'll come out ahead. And like someone said, camper appliances and hardware are easy to resell. If you really play your cards right, you'll get enough from resale parts and s**** out of that camper to cover what you paid for it and the cars combined.

    For my two cents,, the 440 motorhome motor is just like the car motor,, if it is a 413 motor then the heads could be different.. if you take apart a Cl*** C motorhome then you would have the van trans with the possible 'hanging' crossmember, then give it the sawalls as the normal mount is cast on the bottom. The Cl*** A's (one big box) have a heavy duty trans with normal mount. And there is the theory about more nickle in the block and the steam holes for over heating. Ask a drag racaer if he would like a 440 motorhome block. You will usually find motorhome drivetrains to be low in mileage as many bought to 'travel' and the RV traveling shine wore off quick and they were parked. I guess I did learn a little after 23 years in the RV business.

    You are the victim of wrong thinking. Drag the Winnie home, strip the engine/trans, and whatever else you think you can use, and haul the rest over the scales at the recycler. They won't care if it's got an engine or not, only what it weighs, and whatever s**** a ton right now, you've got several tons of it!

    Great score on those cars, guys here (Michigan) would KILL for a body as solid as those, and the chrome is stunning. The wagon is fantastic.

    It is a cl*** A motorhome. Winnebago. The trans has been rebuilt and is laying on a pallet. The 440 is in the motorhome still. I am going to go take a look this weekend. I don't want to mess with changing heads, water pump brackets, etc.. Though. I just want to swap this old motor out with something that will work easy.

    It doesn't sound like a motor home 440 will interchange with a car 440. Considering you have to do some fab work to swap engines anyway, why not make the free engine and transmission fit? The water outlets may be different, but they are still on the front of the engine...unless I'm missing something....

    Just read this thread. Why don't you look for a big *** mirror from an 18 wheeler. Or perhaps those Hubble telescope guys could make you a custom mirror? LOL

    That's what I'm dealing with. Don't really know what the size of the engine is. Supposedly they pulled it from the savoy...
