Can anyone tell me what is the solution you use to get the tarnish off aluminum mouldings? I know you can use a polish and buff them up, but there is either a solution you can but in the hardware store or a home brew you can make that will take a lot of the tarnish off mouldings. I have used it in the p*** but forgot now what it is.

  2. You first have to remove any anodizing.

Aluminum trim is always (as far as I've seen) coated with a clear anodize and the anodizing can easilly be removed with Easy Off oven cleaner.

Once the anodizing is removed then you can m***age out any damage and corrosion.

I have just done all the alloy trims on my 63 country sedan with caustic soda, let it sit on trim until it turned black , rub caustic over trim with fine wire wool and just shine with chrome polish. Like new very quickly.

On the negative side make sure you wash your hands thoroughly before having a piss as caustic and **** don't mix at all ,believe me . Thank god the shower was in same room .lol
