Frame building

    Going to build frame for my 42' ford truck...will 1/8" 2x4 be strong enough.....or...should i do a thicker wall???

    Yes, 2 x 4 x 1/8 will be strong enough, but it wouldn't hurt to go to 3/16 for the ability to tap threads into the frame for non structural items like line clamps, etc. It costs just a little more and you can burn good hot welds into it also. But nothing wrong with 1/8.

    yup, thats what i used to build my frame, the last couple cross members are 3/16th, maybe usless but made me feel a little better thinking about someone possibly hitting the rear[​IMG]

    Nothing is wrong with the frame it has.....was just going to z' it front and back....thats why i am opting to just build one...and suggestions on where to start.....this will be my first!!!!!
