Cool, but small. If you are thinking of using something similar, you'd better check with PennDot on taillight size requirements-they can be a bit picky.
I had some of those, they were fog/driving lights, with either a clear, or half clear/half amber lens. Possibly US Pioneer brand, definitely aftermarket. I couldn't find any on eBay just now (these aren't the Pioneer 145 models, it was a different model number). This guy must have used either a different lens, or put red candy on the lens to make them tail lights. Pretty clever, looks good that way.
Thanks guys, I appreciate the info! Squablow, thanks and I agree they are pretty clever and look good! If anyone else has any more info please let me know.
I found what is supposed to be a Pioneer 145 and it's close but not the exact model but the brand may be the same. http://www.chopcult.com/stevethewelder/cl***ifieds/43928/ another one that sold on Ebay 261160357808
Yeah, the 145 doesn't have the divider and it's more boulbous in the back, these above are die cast and have a flatter back side which would make them easier to mount as a tail light. I've had a few but never in pairs, always one at a time. I wish I had the model number for you.
Awesome Marcy! I believe they may be the auto lamp chicago model SL49? I found this expired ebay auction: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1930s-1940s...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
Just found this on another forum: "Auto Lamp Model SL49 is a Harley Davidson marker light from (I believe) sometime in the 1950s. They were being reproduced by Hide Motorcycles in Japan (link if for a translated page that show the same item). However it doesn't have an exact date of use either."
There it is. Damn, that was buggin' me. I didn't know they had any Harley connection, I'll have to remember that next time I see one.
This guy has an awful lot of taillight information -and taillights. Maybe it will be helpful in finding what you have and need: http://www.taillightking.com/
